Vice Versa – Koel & Vries Logistiek, based in Oss (NL), is a leading logistics service provider specialising in refrigerated and frozen transport throughout the Benelux and neighbouring German regions, with a state‑of‑the‑art cold and frozen warehouse offering 100,000 pallet spaces and high‑capacity crate washing facility.

In 2024 a devastating fire broke out inside Vice Versa’s warehouse, requiring a firefighting operation that lasted 82 hours and leaving the warehouse beyond repair.  Although solar was not the cause of the fire, the impact prompted Vice Versa to reassess every aspect of fire prevention and system safety.

Construction of a new cold and freezer warehouse began shortly after the incident. As part of the rebuild, Vice Versa once again chose to integrate a large solar PV system as part of its sustainability and energy‑efficiency strategy.

This time, the company implemented heightened safety standards, including adopting the latest fire safety technologies, a commitment to enhanced electrical protection measures and took the decision to install ArcBox.

The full solar installation was carried out by De Groene Generatie BV, a specialist in sustainable energy systems including solar panels, home batteries, and electric charging solutions. They installed a total of 704 ArcBox units.
